Springbrook's Morehouse Men

Each year Morehouse College has visited Springbrook to do on-the-spot admissions for African American males who have a 3.0 and 1750 SAT/ACT Test scores. This meeting included seniors who interviewed on December 5th, 11th graders who may interview next year and other students who may need some motivation. The speakers were Jordan Dow (who received a full scholarship 2007) and John Jolley (who received a full scholarship 2006). They provided vauable information on Morehouse concerning scholarships, admissions procedures, opportunities, time management, responsibilities, priorities, and mentoring.

Winter Concert

December 19, 2007 Springbrook HS will be presenting a Winter Choral Concert under the direction of Norma Abdul-Rahim. This concert includes the Show Choir, Choral Group and guitar class. Springbrook HS auditorium 7:00 pm Please consider bringing your friends and relatives. There is a minimal cost at the door to help with concert costs.

World History Curriculum Writers

The purpose of the AP World History course is to develop greater understanding of the evolution of global processes and contacts, in interaction with different types of human societies. Two dynamic Springbrook teachers, Ms. Sharon Cohen and Judy Miller have made contributions to the AP world History Professional Development Guide published by the College Board. The special focus is "Teaching about 20th Century Latin America and Africa in World History. The "introduction" in the book is written by the editor, Sharon Cohen. She and Judy Miller wrote a lesson about Marcus Garvey. Springbrook's Social Studies Department is second to none!
