National Young Leaders Conference

This summer, Dan Pham was selected to participate in the NYLC . Over the 10-day span of NYLC, Dan explored Washington, D.C., combining experiential leadership education, meetings with our nation's leaders and site explorations of the capital's most storied sites. Highlights from Dan's experience include: A day on Capitol Hill, meeting with elected representatives and Congressional staffers to learn how legislative policy shapes our nation's future, A series of fast-paced simulations, culminating in the "Model Congress" activity, in which Dan worked with his fellow scholars in caucuses and committees to debate and pass two bills, A focus on advocacy and local impact throughout the Conference, as Dan met with leaders of non-governmental organizations and community development programs to learn how to apply his newfound leadership skills in the community, he went on guided explorations of the Smithsonian Museums, the Vietnam Veterans, Korean War Veterans, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, among many other sites, to learn how past leaders have influenced our country.

Superintendent's Leadership Program

Natasha Lodha and Amy Wong have been selected as two of the fifteen participants in the 2007-2008 class of candidates. The Superintendent's Leadership Program is the only humanities oriented honors internship program in the county. The curriculum content and style is comparable to many college courses. Students in this program are selected for demonstrating outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and uncommon maturity within their schools and communities.

National Hispanic Recognition Program

Waldemar Berenguer and Tyra Villadiego have been recognized by the College Board as outstanding scholars.

Springbrook's Blue Print Wins Grant

The Blue Print Newspaper has received a $2,500 grant from the American Society of Newspaper Editors for this school year.
The partnership grants are a key component of an overall ASNE high school journalism initiative to spark and strengthen scholastic journalism across the country, which is funded by the John S. and James L. Knight foundation.

Cross Country Team Highlighted in the News










The Springbrook Cross Country team was highlighted on a Montgomery County Cross Country and Track and Field website during their pre-start-of-year training.
